Tsien - An eclectic mix of stupid

Hey guys,

Happy new year from everyone in the band!

I hope your year is starting out better than Tim’s, who broke his arm after slipping on ice, and will be unable to drum for the first couple of months of the year. That means that you won’t be able to see Tsien until March, but if every cloud has a silver lining, our silver lining is more time spent in the studio working towards the debut album. Tim put in a lot of hard work before Christmas and got nearly all the drums recorded, so this setback won’t affect our in-studio progress greatly.

I also suffered a bit of ice related pain after having a slip and landing on my face. For your viewing pleasure, I took some photos before the ambulance came :

The next chance to see us will be the rescheduled gig at the Actress & Bishop on Thursday 4th March.

Tsien will be appearing on stage lots more in 2010. There’ll be some tunes that haven’t been on stage before, and some that sound a bit different from the last time you heard them. The first bookings are appearing on the website’s gigs page now.

We’re also working hard on recording our first release, so look out for that one.

That was just a quick update, more to come soon, watch out for Tsien in 2010.

Meltdown Metal Festival looks like it’s going to be quite an interesting event. Fifteen bands are playing over the course of the day, and it only costs £1 to get in.

It’s Tsien’s first gig with the full line-up in place, and we’re very excited to play it. We’re looking forward to seeing how the metal crowd receive our music.

After the event, there’ll be CDs on sale with a track from each band of the day on it. Listen with your eyes closed and see if you can spot Tsien’s tune in the opening ten seconds. We’ll be the ones without distorted guitars.
